Can we get a clarification on the compensation rules? So everyone on the FA market right now is a UFA?
Not all of the players signed in the first free agency were UFA's so compensation should be given to some teams.

No one will receive compensation. To receive compensation a team must offer their RFA a contract, if they do not he becomes unrestricted. No team offered any RFA a contract. I guess because everyone signed who they wanted to keep.

That's not how compensation works. The original team does not have to make an offer.
If the player is an RFA, the rights still belong to the original team. Compensation must be given if the team does not match the contract offered by the new team.

Free Agency will start noon CT Wendsday. Teams will make offers to their own RFAs. If they do not make an offer to that player they become a UFA. UFA signing will begin noon CT Friday. Change, UFA signing will begin noon Friday instead of Thursday. I know thats not how it works in real life, but I had it set up that way so it would be easier without all the draft pick transfer. I figured if I team did not offer a RFA a contract they would not want them anyways. Here is where I said this in the rules.

Pittsburgh didn't acquire Setoguchi through trade only to lose him for absolutely nothing. Toronto would not want to lose Kulemin for nothing. Montreal with Halak, etc.
I was under the impression that if teams didn't make threads for their RFA's, they would become UFA's. Since hardly any teams were posting threads, I figured you were posting threads for them to make their lives easier.

Well if a GM was not under control of his team, his RFA's shouldn't be able to be signed I would think.
Let's take the Habs for example, if we didn't have a GM for that team, it's not fair for us to say he didn't make an offer to his RFA's when a GM for that team doesn't exist.

i dont think the seto and kuli signs should count cause they where listed as RFA's so i dont think anyone else made offers cuse they didnt want to pay the compensation, both should have been swicthed to UFA's and then people like myself would have offered awaay

I would have been ready to pay compensation for Seto, btw. That's why I made the offer.

Free Agency has been completed. All of the best offers from before noon CT time yesterday will be accepted by the players. As for the players still on the market. A team can offer them a contract at any time by putting an offer in their thread. The player has a 24 hour window for any other teams to make an offer. If no other team offers a contract. PM me with the player and the offer. I will accept or reject. If I reject, you negotiate with me on that deal.
