--April 29, 2010 Wild GM MWG addressed his issue of not having enough good centers yesterday by sending Andrew Brunette to the Red Wings in exchange for Valterri Filppula. Filppula, 26, has had some success with the Wings, and especially in the playoffs. He had this to say on a conference call,"I guess they wanted to go a different direction, but I'm excited to come here to Minnesota. I know a lot of good players play here and the fans are great. I'm excited to also be part of some other Finns on this team in Backstrom, Koivu, and Miettinen. I'll just try my best." Wild GM MWG also said,"We've done a lot of trading so far this year, and I think we addressed two of our biggest needs in getting a scoring winger for Mikko's line and finding someone to center Martin Havlat and Guillaume. It should be two lines that can score and other teams will have to account for. I'll continue to try to put together a solid team." In other Wild news, the Wild have signed two of their restricted free agents in Guillaume Latendresse. He signed a 3 year contract worth $8M. Also, Anton Khudobin was signed to a 2-year, 2-way contract worth $1.6M. This seems to be a signing in case Harding gets dealt away in another trade. GM MWG said he was negotiating with all of his RFA's, but wouldn't tell us if any progress was being made.
