Canadiens Name New General Manager Tuesday, 27.04.2010 / 11:12 AM / News
MONTREAL - Despite their entrance to the 2009-2010 playoffs, the Montreal organization has decided it is time for a change, one that may come as a shock to fans of the Canadiens.
Pierre Gauthier's one year reign as the Montreal Canadiens' General Manager has come to an end, sources tell Internet Hockey, and have come to a one year deal with the young James Valenza. Though young, he has shown great management in the Canadien's junior team affiliate.
He made only one comment earlier this morning, promising that the fans have "a lot to look forward to", and he promises "shocking" changes. Could this be the change the Canadiens need to bring a cup back to Montreal? The 2010 season will tell, and this new General Manager has a promise to deliver on.
