Why in the world does EDM do this trade?

Vetoing this deal has been brought up. What is the reason for this veto?

Veto, just not enough return for a 1st overall pick

Alright, we are ready for the discussion about vetoing this trade. Edmonton has a lot of needs. I gave them two former 1st rounders, one a former 50 point d-man and the other a potential top six power forward. I also gave up McRae an underrated prospect who has borderline first line potential. Junland is a 2 way d-man, top 4 potential, who has twice been named an AHL All-Star. What else do I need to give up?

Seguin has the potential to be a top-flight player...if I can rip off a term from HFBoards, 'quality over quantity' trades are never accepted...especially in EDM's case, because what the Oilers need is a franchise player who will carry the offense on their back, not a bunch of spare parts.

Throwing in Kulemin makes it more realistic IMO.
